Recovery Point provides long-term, residential recovery programs from substance-use disorders and addiction for men and women. They currently have three men’s facilities and were excited to open Recovery Point of Charleston; the first facility for women located on an adjacent parcel to these apartments. Their program uses a peer-driven social model, incorporating the 12-step Alcoholics Anonymous Program and board-certified Peer Recovery professionals to help guide clients to lasting recovery. Residents must attend on-site and outside support meetings and follow evidence-based curriculum to complete the program, which takes between six to twelve months and follows a phased approach to recovery.
Recovery Point of Charleston consist of 24 one-bedroom apartments (15,600 square feet of residential rental floor space) for the women at the later stages of the recovery program. While the apartments are a separate entity from the shelter, the women living at the apartments will be able to utilize the services of the shelter. The goal of the apartments is to provide affordable, transitional housing for these women so they have a quality and safe place to live while transitioning back into the community.
